Website Guide

About
A description of our set-up, mission and founding principles and the definition of a meet-up.

Events
A link to blog of SELFCollective and other local film related events. SELFCollective events include: meet-ups which are open causal times to come out and meet local people interested in no-low budget filmmaking, open project meetings, screenings, lectures, skillshares, sub-group (i.e.writers circle) meetings etc. Any other local film-related events welcome for posting. To post event, email to info@selfcollective.org. Subscribe to RSS feed at bottom of links

Group Projects
The South East London Film Collective presents...
A link to blog for current group projects and exercises. These are open projects and anyone can get involved. These projects focus on the practice/process of filmmaking rather than the product and are a space for people come come out get involved, share their skills and develop working relationships. These projects are generally marked by our collective fondness for absurd arbitrary restrictions to help people let go of the product and have fun with the process! These projects are planned at our quarterly planning meetings (where we organize group projects, group events and revise our organizational structure; these meetings are open to everyone the next one will be held on 13 July at 2pm location TBA) and the organiser's contact info can be found on the main project post.

Individual Projects
In association with South East London Film Collective
A link to  blog to pitch your individual projects to get feedback and find people to help make it happen.  These projects are different from group projects in that they have a director(s) who maintains more authorial control and determines needs and involvements of other filmmakers. SELFCollective does not mediate or regulate these projects, it only acts as a resource to the filmmaker. Our regular casual meet-ups are a great time to meet people interested in working together on projects. Anyone can post a response/comment on a project, please sign your name/contact if you leave a comment. To post a new thread you must be registered, to register as a contributor send your name, borough and email address to info@selfcollective.org.

Discussion
A link to discussion blog for film reviews, technical issues, tricks/tips questions, concerns and ideas related to filmmaking. This is not for project ideas or organization issues. Examples of discussion threads: Favorite film reviews, When should I use subtitles with accents/ audiences in documentary film, Crossfades are a the greatest editing tool;use them at every cut!, Why is final cut squashing my aspect ratio when I export to quicktime!?, Why does sound design matter?   Anyone can post a response/comment on a discussion thread that is already started, please sign your name/contact if you leave a comment. To post a new thread you must be registered, to register as a contributor send your name, borough and email address to info@selfcollective.org. We strongly encourage people to sign and provide their contact info so that discussions can continue at our local meet-ups!

Resources Jason J. and Laurie are busy creating a resources page... we look forward to it!
